How to sexy up your Ubuntu 17.10 desktop and install some applications

Ubuntu now has the Gnome Desktop and it's great, but if you're not a fan of orange and brown you are kind of stuck. But fear not, in this video I am going to show how you can customize your Ubuntu desktop and no I am not going to install KDE.

Commands:

Open a terminal window

Update your system
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Add the noobslab icons themes ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons

Update your package list
sudo apt update 

Install the icons themes
sudo apt install numix-white-icons lila-hd-icons papirus-icons  obsidian-1-icons shadow-icon-theme system76-pop-icon-theme

Install git
sudo apt install git

Clone the Install GNOME Themes Script
git clone https://github.com/tliron/install-gnome-themes

Go to the script directory
cd install-gnome-themes

Run the scrip
./install-gnome-themes

Grab a cup of coffee because is going to take a while ;)

Install some basic applications
sudo apt install gnome-tweak-tool chromium-browser vlc gimp chrome-gnome-shell

Go to the GNOME Shell Extensions website
https://extensions.gnome.org

Install the browser extension

Enable the user themes extension

Install your favorite GNOME Shell Extensions

Open the GNOME Tweak Tool

Select your favorite themes
