How to sexy up your Ubuntu 18.04 LTS desktop

Ubuntu now has the Gnome Desktop and it's great, but if you're not a fan of orange and brown you are kind of stuck. But fear not, in this video I am going to show how you can customize your Ubuntu desktop and no, I am not going to install KDE.

Commands:

Open a terminal window

Update your system
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Add the numix icons theme ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:numix/ppa

Add the papirus icons theme ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:papirus/papirus

Add the paper icons theme ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:snwh/pulp

Add the flat-remix icons theme ppa
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:daniruiz/flat-remix

Update your package list
sudo apt update

Install the icons themes
sudo apt install numix-icon-theme-circle papirus-icon-theme paper-icon-theme flat-remix 

Install git, the gnome tweak tool and the gnome shell plug in connector
sudo apt install git gnome-tweak-tool chrome-gnome-shell 

Clone the Install GNOME Themes Script
git clone https://github.com/tliron/install-gnome-themes

Go to the script directory
cd install-gnome-themes

Install the required software for the install gnome themes script
sudo ./install-requirements-debian

Run the scrip
./install-gnome-themes

Grab a cup of coffee because is going to take a while ;)

Go to the GNOME Shell Extensions website
https://extensions.gnome.org

Install the browser extension

Enable the user themes extension

Install your favorite GNOME Shell Extensions

Open the GNOME Tweak Tool

Select your favorite themes
